the Ten Steps To Becoming A Franchisee
- Candidate completes a franchise application and forwards it to Flip
Flop Shops.
- Candidates for whom applications are approved will participate in
a phone interview to discuss real estate, product merchandising, marketing, training
and initial investment parameters. It is best for a candidate to have a detailed
list of questions prepared for this conversation.
- Upon successful completion of the phone interview, Flip Flop Shops®
forwards a Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) to the candidate. The FDD
is a disclosure document that describes Flip Flop Shops® franchise opportunity, including
the Franchisees rights and obligations. Among other items, the FDD also contains a
list of existing franchisees within the Flip Flop Shops® system, financial information
pertaining to the company, (the franchisor), and a sample franchise agreement. All
prospective franchisees should review the FDD with their business advisors.
- Candidate signs the Acknowledgement of Receipt, (the last two pages
of the FDD), and returns a signed copy to Flip Flop Shops®.
- Candidate Reviews the Franchise Disclosure Document with business
advisors.
- Candidate contacts existing franchisees within the Flip Flop Shops®
system to learn more about Flip Flop Shops® and conduct due diligence.
- Candidate begins to build a preliminary business plan.
- Candidate contacts lenders to discuss requirements and options for
financing if needed.
- Candidate contacts business advisors, attorney and/or accountant
to discuss requirements and options for forming a corporate entity if one is not
already formed. Franchisees can also operate as sole proprietors.
- Candidate and Franchise Development Representative from Flip
Flop Shops schedule a Discovery Day at Flip Flop Shops® World Headquarters in
Irvine, CA. During the Discovery Day candidate will meet key management personnel
at Flip Flop Shops® and visit existing retail locations.
